Becky was most recently the Clinical Director of a private therapeutic day school where she supervised a team of clinicians including school social workers, music therapists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and recreational therapists. She was responsible for all clinical programming including individual and group counseling services to students, play therapy, pet therapy, and related services. Becky’s strengths are her approachability and creativity. She is inspired in both personal and professional ways by inventive spaces to create and discover. Where many may have a dining room in their home, Becky instead has transformed a room dedicated to everything art and music. This is where Becky, her husband, and two children have “Family Art Nights” and music jam sessions.

Becky’s Approach to Therapy

Having lived in many environments including Canada and Hawai’i, I have come to appreciate the importance of community, support, and interconnectivity. I believe we all have a desire to feel secure, supported, and achieve a sense of belonging in the world we live in. I am deeply committed to a few simple, yet powerful values in my clinical work. First, I pride myself in inspiring client’s to discover their own self-worth as we all deserve stability and joy. Secondly, it is an honor to empower others in motivating intrinsic and meaningful change for themselves. Last, I partner with clients to genuinely instill a strong sense of optimism and hope throughout the counseling

I strive to understand each client’s unique concerns, fears, and hopes for treatment. Taking a systems approach, I am dedicated to treating the client in a holistic way tailored to meet their specific needs. Having specialized training in trauma and attachment work, I utilize a mindful approach and evidenced-based practices in order to increase bonds and improve meaningful relationships. I work creatively with each client to reduce challenging symptoms such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, self-destructive behaviors, parenting, and issues of gender/sexuality identities. The client’s therapeutic goals are developed through genuine partnership to ensure success. I am passionate about creating transformative strategies for clients of all ages and all walks of life in authentic and accepting ways.
