Matthew Hyder, MA, LCPC, CADC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor and a certified alcohol and drug counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College.
Prior to coming to Alcorn & Allison, Matthew began his clinical career with inpatient psychiatric populations (2004 – 2006). He then transitioned to inner-city, non-profit work (2006 – 2010), where he counseled children, adolescents, and young adults suffering from a wide range of mental health and/ or substance abuse issues. He achieved his certification in substance abuse and addiction counseling at that time. Matthew transitioned to group private practice work in 2009. He continued his work with children and adolescents, but began broadening his expertise by working with adults with anxiety, depression, anger issues, grief, and sexual abuse. In addition to his private practice, Matthew works at Wheaton College counseling emerging adults as they struggle with perfectionism, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD. He also provides group, premarital and couples counseling.
In his free time Matthew enjoys playing basketball and soccer, developing the perfect indie music playlist, and sipping on a strong cup of coffee next to his Koi pond with his wife and son.
